Gypsy vibes and Balkan beats with ‘Balkan Discotheque’ Friday 5th March from 8pm at Gwdihw…

Following on from last sweltering, packed-out ‘Flamenco Discotheque’, come along to the cosy and intimate setting of Gwdihw and experience Balkan Discotheque.

Kicking off the evening will be TROKYA, a Bristol based trio who have created their very own unique sound-world, uninhibitedly colliding fast and furious Balkan, Gypsy and Eastern European folk-dances. Described as ‘the original and genuine sound of Balkan music’ by The London Paper,they will play an amazing set of fast and furious Balkan Gypsy street party sounds and high-octane Eastern European folk-dance to infiltrate the cosy confines of Gwdihw.

TROYKA (Vlada’s masterful harmonica, Sophie’s fluid, virtuoso clarinet and ethereal vocals, and Barney’s compelling acoustic guitar and rousing darbuka and vocals) bring their relentless drive and distinct sound to a playful evening of eclectic world music.
