Péchés Mignons is proud to present, for the first time in Wales, artists from the world renowned Brighton label TRU THOUGHTS (www.tru-thoughts.co.uk) Over the next few months Péchés Mignons will be programming some of their most exciting acts Cardiff has ever seen starting this month with the unmissable Beta Hector.

Beta Hector’s heading to Gwdihŵ for a very special one off extravaganza of Deep Funk that’ll make your toes curl with excitement. This rare event sees Beta Hector and his partner in crime Dionne Charles of the adored British funk band, Baby Charles, perform a live PA of their acclaimed deep soul and heavy funk stylings in an intimate atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else. Having been compared to Sharon Jones of The Dap Kings, Dionne is known for her unique and boisterous vocals that smoothly ride over a funky, hard hitting drum groove. As for the groove, it’s all live instrumentation, but with an experimental thread of electro, synths, and psychedelic delays that weave through the solid funk rhythm.

Beta Hector will then be spinning records until the wee small hours and you can expect an all-embracing, multifarious set of heavy funk mixed with deep soul, a hint of old skool hip-hop, with a bit electro and psyche thrown in for good measure. At his residency at Big Chill bar, Bristol, he has gained a reputation for playing all killer, no filler, five hour long sets to a soul-hungry dance-floor.

DJ’s Dave Norton & Toclifrench will be continuing the tunes with some truly “Mise en bouche” grooves to keep the dance floor steaming into the early hours.
