Regularly throwing caution to the wind with their eclectic collection of foot-tingling tunes, you can always expect the best genre-bending rhythms at Fat City. With bands, DJs and a few exciting extras along the way, each month Fat City will push and probe the best new grooves and classic vinyl re-discoveries.

The daughter of a musically gifted minister, Hannah Williams was immersed in soulful music from the day she was born. Her first single, an independently released 45 on Mondegreen Records, reached out into the soul scene and drew praise from Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Charles Bradley, Craig Charles on his BBC radio show, and various labels and promoters. Hannah and the band were signed by the Italian Record Kicks label just weeks after the release of the vinyl single.

Whilst recording the anticipated debut LP, the outfit crept onto a couple of festival bills, headlining a stage at Larmer Tree and flying to Italy to play the penultimate set on the main stage at Jazz Re:Found. The London-based band have headlined the legendary 100 Club and supported soul frontrunners Sharon Jones & Charles Bradley as well as hip hop legends like Afrika Bambaataa and The Sugar Hill Gang. They are tighter than ever, and their debut album entitled A Hill Of Feathers comes out on October 15th, just two days after their performance at Gwdihw. Hannah Williams and The Tastemakers have definitely got soul, and they are here to share it with you. Don’t miss out!
