Signed to the effervescent Blowup records, The Bongolian deliver a healthy dose of Hammond-led, psychedelic funk, combined with bongos, bass and a distinctive mod flavour. Having toured the UK, Europe and the USA, The Bongolian have already demonstrated their calibre over four brilliant albums, and now they arrive in Cardiff for an intimate and unique evening of energetic funk music.
Led by Nasser Bouzida of Big Boss Man, The Bongolian take us on a musical journey through heavy funk and Latin soul grooves. Funk, soul and jazz combine with grinding percussion and heavy Bongo rhythms. The Bongolian sound is epitomised by the funky rhythmic stomp of debut single Bongohead, and the eponymous The Bongolian album released early in 2003.
