Gwdihw (Welsh for owl) is an independent café bar which is perched on the fringe of the city centre. Gwdihw is an intimate venue with a petite exterior which morphs from day to night to host a diverse array of events. Monthly listings encompass lashings of live music, DJ’s and a whole host of other various events, including Micro Festivals, seminars and parties. The establishment recently marked its 3rd year and continues to flourish with a constant steam of new and exciting events. Its dexterity and growing reputation as a live music venue has mushroomed and we are looking for staff to share the experience and grow with us.

Experienced Bar Supervisor Job Description
TITLE: Experienced Bar Supervisor
SALARY: 13k+ (depending on experience)
REPORT TO: General Managers
START DATE: 01/03/2012

Personal requirements and experience

* At leas 2 year’s bar experience
* Hard working
* Prepared to go the extra mile for the benefit of the venue
* Excellent customer relation skills
* Living within 3 miles of Gwdihw
* Supervisor experience preferable but not essential

Employment terms

* Min 40 hrs
* 5 shifts per week. 2 days off

Job Role and Responsibilites

* Assist Bar manager in managing bar staff (anything from 1 up to 8 bar staff at a time)
* Serving, bar back and glass collecting.
* Stock check and ordering
* Set up and organising venue ready for evening and weekend, and major events
* Close down & Cashing up
* Training bar staff
* Ensuring high standards – cleanliness, organisation, customer care.
* Customer relations – build up raport with regulars and new customers
* Dealing with difficult customers and working with doorman to ensure a trouble free venue.
* Cellar maintenance
