Llwyd Owen is the author of four Welsh-language novels, among them the 2007 Welsh Book of the Year-winning Ffydd Gobaith Cariad, from which this novel is adapted. Born and bred in Cardiff, he studied at Glantaf High School and Bangor University, before living and working as far afield as New Zealand, Australia, Llanishen and Adamsdown, before returning to the his home city where he now lives in deepest suburbia with his wife and daughter.
